Family Resemblance

Everyone who sees a picture of Adam says "He looks just like his brother!", and Ben and I always disagree. But the other day, Ethan pointed to a picture of himself hanging on our wall and said "Adam!". We corrected him, but then put that picture beside a recent one of Adam, and finally saw the striking resemblance! Yes, the coloring is quite different, but the facial structure (particularly in the nose and mouth region) is nearly identical. See what you think:

One Month Until Spring!

We're all getting a little anxious for spring around here. Despite the frigid temperatures and enormous snow drifts, Ethan really wanted to wear his puddle-jumping outfit to the library on Thursday. After some discussion (aka a tantrum), I relented and allowed him to wear his raincoat and boots (it's tough to argue with a 2-year old's desire to be so fashionable). Speaking of fashion, you'll notice that Ethan completes the outfit with a pair of red sweatpants. These are Mommy's least favorite item in Ethan's wardrobe, and coincidentally (or not) Ethan's most favorite. You can imagine some of the "discussions" we have while getting dressed in the morning...

Silly Games

Oh the silly things we do to make our kids laugh... Aside from watching them sleep, listening to my two babies' laughter is my most favorite part of being a parent. Never forced and always full, their laughter would put a smile on anyone's face.

A couple of videos to demonstrate my point: the first one is actually a little dated - it's from Christmas afternoon, when Ethan discovered the magic of the simple Slinky. The second one was taken of Adam yesterday. Please ignore the annoying singing on my part... video

Second Child

When Ethan was a newborn, Ben and I took about about 1250 pictures (this is not an exaggeration - I actually counted) of him during his first 3 months of life. My parents would chuckle over the frequent Snapfish albums sent with hundreds of pictures, saying "wait until the second one!". Well, they were right. Poor Adam hasn't had many photo shoots of his own. He is of course just as adorable as Ethan was, but we have very little time to just pose him and wait to capture his cute smiles on camera. Hope you'll forgive us for the much thinner baby book, Adam! Perhaps you'll actually thank us when we are showing Ethan's embarrassing baby pictures to his lady friends in the future...
Here are a few shots of our adorable Adam, at a little over 3 months old.And one of the two boys playing together:I think Ethan was trying to feed Adam some sort of pineapple soup he made. We are really enjoying watching the two boys interact more and more these days. No one can make Adam smile like Ethan can, and Ethan is relishing his big brother role.
