Grandma S. Visits

Grandma S. couldn't bear to be away from Ethan for too long (can we blame her?!), so she came for a quick overnight visit. She made a delicious dinner (bean & ham soup and homemade bread), but barely had time to eat as she was busy smothering Ethan with kisses :-)

Winter Weekend in Maine

We trekked up to Maine for hockey, x-country skiing, and to celebrate Ben's 29th Birthday. It was Ethan's first overnight and out-of-state visit, as well as his first time meeting Great Grandpa Howie. Howie was very excited to meet his (middle) namesake and was surprised at how Ethan in his eyes "grew overnight". It was a truly special winter weekend.

Ethan's First "Step"

Yesterday Ethan learned how to move his head from one side to the other, when on his tummy, in response to a rattle. Yesterday it took almost a minute (and lots of exertion) to complete this seemingly simple task. Today, Ethan showed off for his Daddy by doing his new trick over and over in (relative) rapid time. This might not sound like much of an accomplishment to you, but to his proud parents this is very exciting!

It's hard to believe it's already been 3 weeks. Monday marks my return to work, so sadly I won't be able to continue spending my days practicing the "football hold" and snuggling Ethan & Luna on the couch while growing out my scraggly beard. Oh well, all good things must come to an end, and someone needs to bring home the bacon. After consulting with Ethan, it appears that someone is going to be me :-)
