Other than the fact that my body definitely needs some time to adjust to running in eighty degree weather, I have absolutely no complaints about March in Maine this year! The week we just had was unbelievable, almost disorienting. I found myself wanting to wash and pack up all the winter gear, and beyond eager to get digging in my garden. But as New Englanders, we know that what Mother Nature giveth she can so easily taketh away, and that while the weather suggests we should start thinking summer, the calendar reminds us we should not. So we have been busying ourselves with playing outside, clearing some garden beds, washing the cars, sweeping out the garage, and just soaking up as much sunshine as we can possibly handle. It looks like we're going to return to more usual March weather for a stretch now, which will undoubtedly feel quite chilly to our bodies, which have been tricked into thinking shorts and sunscreen are here to stay.

Someone needed a spring haircut... |

I was a little reluctant to lose the gorgeous curls, but let's be honest -
it looks like a toupee. The face-to-hair ratio is WAY too small. |

Much better! (Although, where did my baby go?) |

Just a brotherly chat over popsicles |

The stare-down: Who will win the race to the finish? |

"Hmmm...sharing might actually help my cause." |

Ahhhh.....bare feet in soft grass |

Or on the sun-warmed deck |

Even Luna knows what a rare gift it is to have an outside sunbath in March!
Amidst bulbs coming up! |

Building what we hope will be a shelter for nesting birds in our yard |
