We spent this past weekend in CT visiting Noni and Papi and other members of the extended Magyar clan. Not quite the MFP (Magyar Family Picnic) of old (no obstacle course or beer die), but there was food and there was family. My Uncle David and his family were visiting from the UK, so we made the (long, but much easier this time) trip down to see them. It is always a treat to visit with them, and although they live across the Atlantic, we manage to get together at least once a year. The last time we saw them, Adam was still in utero and Ethan was a menace on my parents' deck, threatening to pitch himself over the railing, picking all of Noni's gorgeous flowers, and eating leaves and rocks. This year, it was Adam that was the menace on my parents' deck, and Ethan was quite content playing with my cousin James. James had what seemed like dozens of Pokemon-like figures that Ethan was all over.
James and his sister Alexandra even took Ethan to the beach for a few hours so Mom and Dad could get a break - isn't family great?! And although he tried to deadhead the occasional flower, Ethan was better about just admiring them this year.
Adam was content to sit on Uncle Pauly's lap and play some sort of table-slapping game. It seemed to entertain both of them for quite awhile.
Our visit also coincided with my Uncle Joska's 70th birthday party on Saturday. Joska's granddaughter Charlotte was born just a few days after Adam, and this was the first time we were able to get the cousins together. They were somewhat interested in each other - there were a few eye pokes and ear grabs and then they scooted off in their separate ways.
As you can see, Charlotte is a cutie patootie who is about the best little dresser I know. And yes, she could definitely beat up Adam. We are coming to realize that our little peanut is...a very little peanut.

I'll come and steal Adam away from you if you want. I guess it's just one more way he wants to be different than his big brother. Glad you guys had fun!
