I have been a little remiss in capturing the boys' latest accomplishments, and since this blog is a baby book of sorts, I figure I should mention a few so we remember who did what when. First of all, Adam is now a full-fledged walker. He started walking right after Thanksgiving, at 13 months (just like his big brother). So far, the boys have been amazingly similar in their developmental paths; I guess genes do matter for something. Here is a little video we took when Adam started taking his first steps. They only waddle and weave like drunken sailors for a short time before they master the skill, so I was happy we caught it on tape.
Ethan has also been busy mastering a new skill - I am happy to report that he is now sleeping in a "big boy bed". For some reason, this was a transition Ben and I were both dreading. I'm not going to name names, but one of us had a particularly hard time transitioning to a big bed when we were little (ok, it was me), so we were hoping those genes didn't get passed down. It turned out to be a very easy transition, and Ethan took to his new bed very happily from day one.
Now if we could just master that other "big boy" skill that starts with a "p" and rhymes with snotty (snotty we have totally mastered, unfortunately)...
And last but not least, at the ripe old age of nearly 14 months, Adam's first teeth have FINALLY made their appearance! Just this morning, we noticed the top two teeth peeking out from his gums. I have a feeling we will be playing catch-up now and they will start popping up everywhere, which may make for some long days and nights. But we're very happy that he won't be needing dentures anytime soon!
