Two and a half weeks later, we finally celebrated Adam's third birthday with a proper party. Even the birthday boy himself had already refocused his sights on November things - when he woke up this morning I said, "Do you remember what today is?", to which he replied "Thanksgiving!!". But he got back into his birthday groove once the decorations were up and the guests had arrived. As most everyone knows (because he will share this fact with anyone who will listen), Adam is rather enamored with the color yellow. Some might call it an obsession. So when I was brainstorming ideas for his third birthday party, I thought a yellow party would make our little sunshine very happy. Yellow somehow led to construction and road signs and bulldozers, and what three-year-old boy doesn't love construction and road signs and bulldozers? So our yellow / construction party theme was born.
A little pre-party snuggle time with Papi (aka co-party planning extraordinaire [a position co-chaired with Noni]).
Helen, the only (non-infant) girl at the party. Poor thing.
Doesn't every big brother get a birthday crown? And a non-birthday present?
And to help open little brother's presents, of course.
In all honesty, Ethan was actually really helpful with (and very serious
about) party set-up. Check out his handiwork on the sliders
(mine at the top, his at the bottom).

Between brunch and cake, we got our wiggles out by jumping in piles of freshly-raked leaves.
And finished off the fun with bulldozer-ed birthday cake (yellow, of course!).
